Kanner Baker Expands Its Team

 

Welcome to Our New Attorneys and Paralegal

We are excited to welcome three new additions to Kanner Baker. Earlier this month, Lauren Carey and Kim Davis joined Kanner Baker as partners and Jennifer Hays as a paralegal. All three were previously with Abrams, Davis, Mason & Long, LLC in Atlanta.


Lauren M. Carey, Partner

Lauren focuses on developing complex, generation-skipping estate plans utilizing irrevocable trusts, corporate and partnership structures, estate tax freezes, and charitable instruments. She represents high net worth clients through the estate administration process, lifetime exemption planning, trust decantings and nonjudicial settlement agreements. In addition, Lauren devises business succession plans for family businesses. She has been recognized by Georgia Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for the past two years (2020-2021).

Lauren received her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law and has an L.L.M. in estate planning from the University of Miami School of Law and a Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


A. Kimbrough Davis, Partner

Kim Davis has focused his practice on trusts and estates, estate administration, family business succession planning, and transfer taxation for more than 50 years. He advises executors and trustees in administrative matters and has served as an expert witness and guardian ad litem in court cases. He has been included in the Best Lawyers in America annual listing for the past 14 years (2008-2021) and in Georgia Super Lawyers every year since 2004.

Kim received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.


Jennifer Hays, Paralegal

Jennifer has more than 10 years of experience working for law firms in the trust and estate planning area. At Kanner Baker, she works directly with clients to guide them through the estate planning and probate process. Her responsibilities include managing monthly expenses for trustee clients and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, wills, trusts, probate filings and corporate documents.

Jennifer earned a paralegal certificate from the Southeastern Paralegal Institute and received a B.A.A.S from the University of North Texas.

Two “Lawyer of the Year” Recognitions 

Kanner Baker is proud to announce that both Paige Baker and Kim Davis were each recently recognized as 2021 “Lawyer of the Year, Trusts and Estates” by Best Lawyers®. Paige received recognition for the greater Atlanta region and Kim for the Atlanta region. This recognition is awarded once a year to only one lawyer per practice area in each region and is the most prestigious individual award given by Best Lawyers®. Congratulations to Paige and Kim!
